UNEC SUG PRESIDENT STILL SMILES IN THE FACE OF WATER SCARCITY
While the SUG president marches off every morning in his suit and red tie, with a demeanour like I be on my suit and tie , waving triumphantly to students and strangers alike, the students of the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus travel the nooks and crannies of this school searching for water. Just like in the proverbial story of Rich Man and Lazarus, water has become a scarce and sacred commodity in UNEC. What is more? The more the students groan over the issue, the worse the situation gets and at this point every well-meaning student of this school is beginning to wipe out smiles that were once on his/her face and the erstwhile awe we all had for the SUG president is beginning to wane gradually.
After the abysmal and impromptu
change of water price by the SUG, it seems the water vendors are now
particularly fond of playing hide-and-seek with the students. These days, they
don’t even come to sell at all. What we have on our plate is a well-chiseled
drought which the SUG president with his admirable command of language, labels
“The Price We Must Pay for Revolution.” It appears that the revolution we are
waiting for is a next Student Union Government.
Now that there is so much famine in
the animal kingdom, we sincerely hope his agenda and charisma go beyond his
characteristic suit and tie; and that he actually has something on the table
for us. I would not imagine him to be an entertainment president, but common
sense would find it impossible to resist a proper scrutiny of his intentions
and competence.
In all, maybe I am being too unfair
towards Mr. President, pointing out this necessity and making a big deal out of
his “suit and tie”. But come to think of it, who would put on such expensive suit
and tie every morning without himself having gallons and gallons of water?
Wait, maybe he! No, I think not.
Like I said before in a previous article, the SUG is entitled to a benefit of doubt, but these days, I doubt the benefit.

U are an idiot.if u don't have money for suit and tie come and have them ...Ewu ....U are sent to destroy his image
ReplyDeleteDear mr. Ekene, stop hiding your identity to throw childish insult of void entity. If you have something to say, direct your criticism to the article, constructively. Yes... Like you went to school...like you befit the suit and tie. If not, Go hang yourself with and suit and rope
DeleteIt is true joooor
DeleteHow many days the guy don dey office naaa
ReplyDeleteekene has deceived himself
ReplyDeleteYes! You want him to have stayed in before he can respond to the need of the students, and i wonder why he was even elected in the first place .I have always said this that the kind of people that claims to be leaders now are mouth watering leaders that are either too indifferent to the need of the led or too immature for leadership.Mr.President your first step in the governance of Unec is like giant tottering claiming to take a bold step forward but in actuality it is a backward step.If you can't solve the issue of ordinary water vendors in Unec i wonder what your will look like when the school authority presents theirs. We will vacate the school then
ReplyDeleteIf Ekene finally cannot solve a problem as basic as providing water at an affordable and consistent rate, the school administration would be silly to entrust him with any extra responsibility.
DeleteAhahhahahahha... "Tottering Giant".. I believe that was the theme of the University's 50th anniversary. Suit and tie.. He looks kinda good in it tho.. Red shirt.. (DANGER) am afraid. He just needs to sit up tho and get his team up and running. Ehen!!!! (Clearing my throat). He shud pls appoint judges n stop playing politics. DeleteThis website and iys owners have never for one day been in support of Ekene finally's administration. I'm not surprised at this publication and all i jst wanna say is that this website is a disgrace to journalism, maybe dat is why you guys were picked up by the sss at a point. Yes, there is no water, do you think the Sug president is happy about it? You guys are just butressing on his suit and tie, if its itching you, i'd advice you go get urs. Lets call a spade a spade, dont b bias in reporting..dats one of the tenets of journalism...
ReplyDeleteWhat points did you make to logically rebut the article? Just list them... (Lemme Help you)

b) That this website is a disgrace to journalism
c) That Lionspot was picked up by SSS at a point
d) That the article has been buttressing on his suit and tie
KENECHUKWU CLAP FOR YOURSELF WELLDONE
Truth be told, Lionspot did not support Ekene, but, we seriously can not deny that ever since the advent of this administration, water has become a problem. Our transportation system has detoriated and this Convenience ish is really troubling.
