MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE 2015 MAIDEN ALUMNI HOMECOMING UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA

The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences and Technology, College of Medicine of the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus is currently warming up and preparing for her Maiden Alumni Homecoming. This long expected event has a tentative date of 7th November, 2015 by 12pm at Villa Toscana Hotels at the heart of the Coal City of Enugu State.

It is noteworthy to state that this is the first time the Department is going to host such a laudable event and probably the first Department to do so in the Faculty. It was gathered that the current prestigious Head of the Department in the person of Professor N.F Onyemelukwe was said to be stunned at the brilliance of the students when the current NIMELSSA 2014/2015 Government piloted by Comrade Igwilo Chinedu (popularly known as IGWILO C.K) brought the already-drafted proposal for the Homecoming and requested for its actualization as the Event is aimed at bringing the past and current students from 1989 set till date together in promoting the much needed professionalism and relationship among them and ensuring that any lost passion is rekindled. It was also gathered that the Homecoming will surely help in attracting massive infrastructural upgrading into the Department and the Faculty at large.

The departmental student president who is the brain behind this upcoming Event when asked to give an insight about the Event said "…it has the vision which is to erect a strong and reputable University of Nigeria Medical Laboratory Science Department Alumni Association (UNMLSAA) that will be in the forefront of better laboratory practices in Nigeria and beyond and the mission is to reunite with our much appreciated pioneer founders and members in promoting togetherness and professional relationship in the practice". He thereby calls on all the past and current students of the Department to come in mass to celebrate in the Event as the Department promises to make it historic and awesome.

Without much delay, it is clear that sustainable development and the actualization of the departmental president's 7-Point Agenda, is not far from reach in MLS.
