BREAKING NEWS: SUPREMACY DEFINED IN FABSA UNEC
LONG-DRAWN
BATTLE SETTLED
The argument that has been a topical issue of
discuss amongst student of business administration was today settled in the
first-ever organized debate in the faculty of business administration from the
stable of DIGNITY CONSULT. With
moderators drawn from various faculties but business administration, you will
agree with me that the entire process was free and fair. Arguing from a factual
standpoint as against mere speculations that has been the basis of claim of
supremacy until now; in a competition that requires participants to study
extensively, think on their feet, and be accurate as accurate can be, and with
every member served with equal chance, I make bold to say that management
student rocks!!. This goes to show that result is not necessarily the true test
of knowledge but the result of our proving our creative ability on occasions
like this is. Management department representatives’ delivery and eloquence
showed in-depth research and understanding on the topic. I am talking about Ifeanyi Miracle and Rosemary Meziem. If
you don’t agree with me, obviously you did not attend the competition.
SCORE LINE:
MANAGEMENT: 82
MARKETING: 76
BANKING: 70
…………………………THE WORST MOMENT THE DAY………………….
If someone had
earlier told her what fate awaited her in the competition she would have
shrugged it off as mere criticism not even a sorcerer with a crystal ball
offering her a peep into the future would have or how else will you explain her
joining the competition in the first place? I’m talking of the supporting
speaker of the accountancy department. She was confident about herself like any
other participant, started out fine by making a wonderful opening statement but
midway into her presentation………gengen!!.OMG!!
#jawdroped……Mehn! With a pose that
suggest she wants to take a selfie, the babe went blank!!!somebody help!!! By
all indications, the prospective accountant was meditating on D’banj’s “Why me”.
Already stuck, the radio in her caught signal and came alive when she made the
mistake of starting all over but that still didn’t make any difference. At that
point she decided to take a bow to avoid further embarrassment, and I continued
saying to myself; thang GOD I am a NUAMBSITE.\\
NOT EXPENDABLE, NOT A SURBODINATE, SIMPLY
SUPREME
The importance
of the management profession to the survival of any organization was further
solidified as a result on the outcome of the debate. Representatives of the
management department argued along the line of the four major managerial
functions; PLANNING, ORGANIZING, DIRECTING and CONTROLLING of organization’s
resources to achieve its set objectives. It simply translates that marketing,
accounting, and financiers, with their lofty offer, stands still until
management steps in to create value out their resources. The manager playing
the entrepreneurial role identifies opportunity then combines the resources of
the three aforementioned departments to exploit the opportunity. Therefore,
management leads the way! Management is not expendable, not a subordinate but
simply SUPREME.
FIRST TIME………AND SHE GOT IT RIGHT
Anyone who
knows her closely can attest to her leadership ability, energy and, creativity
but conducting the first ever organized and fully participated debate in the
faculty of business administration still comes with its own challenges and
doubt her above mentioned qualities notwithstanding. But once again, she rose
to the occasion and delivered on her promise. Her name is Otemewo Blessing
(watch out for that name), the first female president of an association on
campus. Visionary, pragmatic, and totally yielded to quality service, I believe
this one of many more feats she will achieve in life. KUDOS! To you blessing
and your superb team for giving us an event we all enjoyed.
