ARMED FORCES STUDENTS FORUM MEET WITH THE SUG

Yesterday, November 2, 2016, ended on a very delightful note for the Students' Union Government as representatives of the Armed Forces Students Forum (AFSF) met with officials of the Union and promised to work with, not just the SUG but with the university authority to ensure that security on campus is given utmost priority. According to the representatives, the forum has been at its best in the area of protecting fellow students as much as they can, and have deemed it fit and necessary to officially present themselves to the Union as a student body on campus.
While promising that no student will under their watch be intimidated either by their men or any other, they also decried the indiscriminate use of military kits by non-military students. According to them, such things have various effects both on the defaulting persons and on their noble profession. These effects include:
1. Giving a bad name to the armed forces as most of those who use these kits perpetrate crimes with them.
2. It is impersonation which is punishable by law.
3. Whoever uses these kits endangers himself as men on military outfits are easy targets to criminals like robbers when they attack.
They therefore appealed to the general public, especially students of the university, to desist from such acts as those who continue therein are doing so at their own risk.
