Re: REVISED TIME TABLE OF EVENTS FOR 2015/2016 ACADEMIC SESSION

The above headline appeared on the university website on Tuesday, 8th
December, 2015, and since then, so many questions and suggestive
comments have been spreading about it. I deemed it necessary to
address this issue due to the number of questions I have been faced
with as regards the revised timetable of events.
A careful observation will make it clear that the timetable under the
heading above is not for undergraduate students but for post-graduate
students.
Before the timetable of events, there is a clear indication of whose
timetable of events it is. The following captions came before the
heading stated above:
UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA, NSUKKA
SCHOOL OF POSTGRADUATE STUDIES
This makes it clear that the timetable of events is for the School of
Postgraduate Studies, not undergraduates.
Truth is, I am one of those praying for a review in the timetable of
events for undergraduates considering the fact that this half of the
semester has not been funny at all, and as soon as we return from
Christmas break, examinations get closer. However, it is important we
do not give ourselves false hope. Our timetable remains valid.
Christmas break starts on Tuesday, 22nd December, 2015 and ends on
Monday, 4th January, 2015 which is the day lectures are meant to
resume.
On the other hand, considering the fact that the dates for
matriculation and convocation for postgraduate students are different
from those of undergraduates which is quite unusual, it is important
we keep our fingers crossed and not make insinuations.
If there be any change in the current timetable of events for
undergraduates, we will inform you promptly as it is our duty to keep
you updated.
